Dog Walk
Names

You've told us some great ones, and some we've just found. But you all said that finding suggestions is like pearls dropped in your lap. So here's some free pearls:

Wiggle Waggle Walk-a-thon (Animal Welfare Association of LaGrange IN)

Walk A Dog-athon (humane society, Bozeman MT)

Lucky Mutt Strut (Max Fund, Denver CO)

Strut Your Mutt, Strut for Mutts

Run or Walk Your Paws Off (Animal Relief Foundation, Elko NV)

Dog Day Afternoon

Paws for a Cause

See Spot Walk

Bark in the Park

Furry Scurry (Denver Dumb Friends League in CO has this trademarked so you can't use it, but it might give you some ideas)

We ask that you have some ethics and smarts about using these names. Do not use a name that's similar to one being used already in any of your surrounding areas. Confusion will not help you create an identity for your event, which needs to stand alone in your community's memory. A memorable name paired with a popular reputation entices sponsors to jump on each year and residents to join in simply because of the familiarity of that name.

This is why some event names have been copyrighted. Otherwise, other area organization may (and have been known to) copy the name and steal all the well earned recognition and reputation that that name holds in that area.

So be imaginative and considerate when selecting your Dog Walk name for the sake of your own event's future success.

No Balls Dinner

This was my first dinner or anything like it. I didn’t know what I was doing,” says Bonnie Goodman in Livingston, Montana. “It took over my entire life for nine months. I just blew off my business.”

Bonnie’s referring to her glass bead business where she uses an ancient Italian process to create intricate scenes and designs out of glass to form beads. Her animal devotion shines through in her off-hours where she donates her time to the Stafford Animal Shelter and the Montana Spay/Neuter Task Force.

Last fall, as part of a massive three-day spay/neuter clinic, entitled “The Fixer Upper”, Bonnie decided to organize a fundraiser for both groups as well. “It started when I went to the county commission and got them to designate an official county Pet Week. That designation got us the fairgrounds for the clinic free,” explains Bonnie. Then she moved on to the Elks Club who donated their lodge for her appropriately-named fundraiser, The Spay-ghetti and No Balls Dinner.
